This website links to web resources and a special webquest for teaching about body systems in courses on human biology and health in grades 7-12. The project is spearheaded from the University of California, Davis, informed by resource development at the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Some of these web sites provide teaching resources that can lead to more effective biology teaching without the traditional animal dissection, which appears to be becoming outmoded in current curricula.
Many science teachers in grades 7-12 have participated in our focus groups and rated available resources for their usefulness and value; only highly rated sites are presented here. Additional materials can be borrowed on a complementary basis from Animalearn.
