Companion Animal Memorial Fund
The CCAH is grateful to the veterinary clinics listed below for their donations to our Companion Animal Memorial Fund. Participating veterinary clinics and practitioners send the names of their clients who have recently lost a companion animal friend to the Center for Companion Animal Health together with a donation in their honor. The Director of the CCAH sends a special letter to each family whose pet is honored, notifying them of the clinic's gift in memory of their pet. Each year, more than 300 participating clinics contribute in excess of $150,000 through memorial gifts for clinical health research to improve treatment for diseases affecting thier clients' pets.
We recently received a letter of appreciation from the town of Atherton Department of Police in response to a donation from one of our CAMF-participating clinics, Mid-Peninsula Animal Hospital. The clinic made a donation to honor the police K-9 "Lotty", who died after ingesting parts of a common but highly toxic landscape plant, a cycad known as a "Sago palm".
