Susan is a UC Davis alumna (BS, physiology, 1973; MFA, dramatic art: design, 1984; Certificate in Graphic Design, 1995) who, before joining the School of Veterinary Medicine as a writer/editor in 1994, served as a Staff Research Associate in animal genetics and reproductive physiology for 24 years.
In addition to the CCAH Update, she publishes Veterinary Medicine News and and carries out other projects for the school in roles that include interviewer, writer, editor, photographer and designer. In addition to animals and science, she enjoys cycling, the natural world, and the arts... especially opera. Her family includes two cats (who also like opera).
