Jack Collins
Jack Collins has held leadership roles at the Clorox Company,
Oakland, California, for over 20 years, including president and
chief operating officer from 1986-1990. As executive vice president,
he managed domestic and international marketing, sales, and manufacturing
operations. While vice president of the Household Products Division,
he oversaw R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of the company’s
bleach, household cleaning products, and food products. At Jack's
retirement in 2000, he had served more than 14 years as a member
of the board of directors.
Prior to the Clorox Company, Jack worked for the Procter & Gamble
Company, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was responsible for marketing
some very popular consumer products, such as Crest toothpaste,
Scope mouthwash, and Prell shampoo. While vice president of the
company, he had overall supervision of the Toilet Goods Division.
Jack’s volunteer activities have spanned many years and benefitted
numerous organizations. He has been involved in the United Way
for over 30 years, including service as vice-chair of the United
Way board of directors from 1990-1991. Jack has also worked with
the East Oakland Youth Development Center, the Bay Area Girl Scout
Council, the Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury, the Cloverdale Economic
Development Commission, and the Cloverdale Boys & Girls Club.
Because of his extensive corporate experience, Jack has also been
called upon as an Executive in Residence of the UC Davis Graduate
School of Management.
Jack and his wife, Janet, a retired business executive, reside in Cloverdale, CA, where Jack enjoys fly fishing expeditions, creative writing (fiction and non-fiction), and the building and flying of radio-controlled model aircraft.
