The Equine Genetics program in The Lyons Den is focused on the genetic mapping of specific genes. These genes are genetically mapped in either the cat or the dog or are specific phenotypic traits or of particular biological interest to the health of the domestic horse. Research efforts are designed to construct comparative genetic maps across the cat, dog, and horse. This research is a collaborative effort with equine researchers throughout the world.
