ACCREDITATION STATUS

The U.S. Department of Education has delegated to the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Council on Education the responsibility for accrediting the schools and colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States.  The UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine was last reviewed for accreditation in 2004 and at that time was awarded FULL ACCREDITATION status.  Each school or college of veterinary medicine is reviewed on a 7-year cycle.  Our next review will be in 2011.  The accreditation review encompasses 11 standards which evaluate the School in the following areas:

The AVMA requires a pass rate of 80% on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE).  The UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine NAVLE pass rates for the past 5-years are as follows:

Class of 2007 = 96%
Class of 2006 = 96%
Class of 2005 = 98%
Class of 2004 = 97%
Class of 2003 = 99%
