The VORL provides diagnostic service
for the cases of musculoskeletal disease requiring specialized techniques
not available elsewhere in the State of California, and occasionally nationally.
Assistance is provided for the diagnosis of bone diseases to the California
Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System (CVDLS) and the Veterinary Medical
Teaching Hospital (VMTH). The VORL plays a significant role in determining
the diagnosis and etiopathogenesis of specific musculoskeletal disorders
in racehorses in cooperation with the CVDLS for the California Horse Racing
Board Postmortem Program.
