Research Programs

Cell and Molecular Biology
The goals of this program are to understand the nature of bone and cartilage cells to their microenvironment.

Locomotion and Gait Analysis
Gait analysis provides an objective measure of the efficacy of treatment of a musculoskeletal injury or disease. It also provides a measure for the effect of racetrack surfaces which have long been implicated for causing musculoskeletal injuries to racehorses.

Musculoskeletal Biomechanics
This program includes a broad range of projects, collaborators and techniques involved in the goal of understanding musculoskeletal diseases and treatments of performance, companion, and production animals, wildlife, and man.

Musculoskeletal Disease & Injury
Current research in musculoskeletal disease includes the investigation of Silicate Associated Osteoporosis, as well as other disease. Other research includes investigation to the cause of catastrophic injuries in racehorses.

Oral and Maxillofacial Regeneration
The goals of this program are to research regenerative techniques and stem cell treatments to treat and repair oral and maxillofacial disorders.
