At UC Davis, students are not the only ones coming "back to school." Graduates and other veterinarians regularly return for Continuing Education events to learn the latest treatment techniques and new knowledge in the field. Among the specialized workshops and seminars is a long-term, intensive immersion in the clinical environment.

The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the California Veterinary Medical Association are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2012-2013 Donald G. Low-CVMA Practitioner Fellowship.

The fellowship, awarded annually, provides a unique opportunity for practitioners to learn in the bustling clinical setting of the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and related programs. Each fellow spends 20 days in a selected specialty service to improve his or her general veterinary medical knowledge in an area of professional interest.

The program also provides an important exchange of information from practitioners as they share the real-world experience and practical insights of private practice with faculty and veterinary students.

Fellows receive the awards based on the merit of in-depth proposals developed with faculty mentors. Fellows receive their training at no charge and gain 72 Continuing Education credits when they have completed their scheduled sessions.
