Class of 1983 - 30th Anniversary

Greetings Class of 1983!

Congratulations on our upcoming 30-year anniversary! Please take a moment to update your contact information.

The class will be hosting a 30th reunion in Davis on July 26-28, 2013 in addition to the School's October events (October 11-13th).

We look forward to working with the class of 1983 to plan fun activities.

Formal invitations will be mailed the week of May 13.

  • Schedule of Events:
    • Thursday, July 25th -- BBQ at Judy Mouritsen's house, for classmates going on the pre-reunion raft trip (Friday morning). For details, contact Judy at mourjdvm@aol.com. Judy lives five minutes from the Quality Inn & Suites, in Cameron Park, which is convenient to the raft trip. The hotel's phone number is (530) 677-2203 and ask for the rafter's discount.
    • Pre-reunion excursion on Friday, July 26th -- Raft Trip on the South Fork of the American River (6 people to a raft, $300 per raft plus tip, and be back to Davis by 6 pm). If interested, please contact Tom Sholseth at drtomsholseth@shaw.ca.
    • Friday, July 26th -- Class Social at the Hallmark Inn (110 F Street, Davis) from 7 - 10 pm. Drinks and appetizers at the Courtyard Lounge & Patio. We've reserved a block of rooms ar this hotel (see information below).
    • Saturday, July 27th -- First session of CE program (talks by classmates; 6-7 units of CE credit for Saturday & Sunday). Runs from 9 am-12:30 pm in 170 Schalm Hall, light refreshments provided. Concludes with a Meet & Greet with our former professors. Lunch on your own. Tour of the Veterinary Medicine Health Science Complex, from 2:30-3:30 pm, starting at the lobby of Gladys Valley Hall. Class reunion and dinner at Putah Creek Lodge from 5-11pm. Beer & wine bar starting at approximately 5 pm with a buffet dinner catered by Buckhorn Steakhouse at 6:30 pm. The evening will include gathering for a class photo, viewing "Life after Vet School" (a photo montage), and more.
    • Sunday, July 28th -- Second session of CE program. Runs from 9 am - 12:30 pm in 170 Schalm Hall, light refreshments provided. Lunch on your own with time to explore the campus and the city of Davis for the rest of the day.

  • "Life After Vet School" photo show - please submit 5 photos to Mary (Kramer) Sherman by June 1st, to be used in a montage DVD for viewing at the reunion. Everyone who submits photos will receive a copy of the disc, so please send photos even if you cannot attend the event. You may still request a disc from Mary if you do not submit any photos.
