Welcome to the Microscopy and Computer Imaging Lab for the
Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Cell Biology. Our facility
provides microscopy, digital imaging, poster printing and
consultation services to all campus departments on a recharge basis.
Our goal is to assist faculty, staff and students with their
research needs for qualitative and quantitative applications. We can
assist with the production of publication quality images and offer
consultation on experimental approaches for use with our equipment.
Instrumentation housed in our facility is available 24 hours per
day, 7 days per week for trained users, with consultation, training,
poster printing, and support services available from 7:30 a.m. - 2
p.m. Monday through Friday. Our facility houses the following resources:
- Laser scanning confocal microscopy + DIC with 3 channel
digital acquisition
- Brightfield, DIC and epifluorescence microscopy with 35 mm
film and digital image capture
- Digital image montaging hardware and software for creating very high resolution reconstructions of histological specimens
- PhotoShop, PowerPoint and Illustrator software
- A flatbed scanner for reflective and transparency work
- A variety of color printers to produce publication quality
color images
- Poster printing service
