Faculty Research Grants
The Center for Companion Animal Health has established a competitive faculty research grant program at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. We invite vet school faculty who are interested in companion animal health to submit proposals for funding. The call for this program goes out in February each year and proposals are due in early April. Funding begins in the following fiscal year. - Anesthesia
Discovery of the most effective anesthetic regimens for cats and dogs

- Clinical, Pathology, Parisitology
Diagnostics, the use of non-invasive urine dipsticks for detection of cancer in dogs. Principle Investigator: Christopher 1999
- Epidemiology
Discovery that vaccination can cause a type of cancer (fibrosarcomas)
in cats. Principle Investigator: Kass
- Hemodialysis
The 1st (worldwide) hemodialysis treatment for cats in kidney failure
Principle Investigator: Cowgill 1994
- Infectious Disease
The 1st (worldwide) Shelter Medicine Program.
Principle Investigator: Foley 2001
- Nutrition
Identification of optimal requirements, metabolism and toxicity levels of: Vitamins A, B, K, Choline and Chloride for cats
Principle Investigators: Morris, Rogers, Marks, Backus 1992-1999
