Center for Companion Animal Health
CCAH History

The Center for Companion Animal Health was created in 1992. It incorporated and consolidated two programs, the Companion Animal Laboratory Fund established in 1973, and a facility then known as the Comparative Cancer Center, established in 1987. In 2004, the CCAH added a new 36,000 square foot facility. Currently, CCAH provides a core program in all aspects of health, well-being and diseases of companion animals and serves as a focus to bring together faculty from both the Veterinary and Medical schools who are interested in companion animal health. The Center for Companion Animal Health has an ongoing program dedicated to improving the health of companion animals and providing research, training, facilities and financial support for the following programs:

  • Faculty Research Grants
  • Resident Project Assistance Fund
  • Scientist/Clinicians Exchange Program (Koret School, Israel)

The Center for Companion Animal Health (CCAH) is an internationally recognized center for health studies of companion animals. The CCAH attracts and unites renowned scientists and clinicians whose efforts advance our knowledge of veterinary medicine and promote the application of new knowledge and techniques to address health problems that affect companion animals.
