Facilities and event locations. The Sacramento Convention Center, 1400 J Street, Sacramento CA, consists of the Exhibit Hall/Activities Complex and the adjacent Sacramento Community Center Theater. The Ballroom on the 3rd Floor of the Exhibit Hall/Activities Complex will be configured to house the Congress Exhibit Area on the Lobby/Terrace (east) side and meeting rooms 306, 307, 314, and 315 on the west side. There are additional meeting rooms located on this level outside of the Ballroom (Rooms 301 through 305 and 316 through 319). Additional meeting rooms (202, 203, and 204) are located on the 2nd level of the Exhibit Hall/Activities Complex. Congress Registration and the Sunday Reception will be held in the Lobby/Terrace Area outside the 3rd level Ballroom; Congress Plenary Sessions will be held in the Theater; Technical Sessions and Discussion Forums will be held in the 2nd and 3rd level meeting rooms; and Posters and Exhibits will be in the Congress Exhibit Area part of the 3rd level Ballroom. On-site registration is available at the Sacramento Convention Center from 3:00pm to 6:30 Sunday afternoon in the Lobby of the Ballroom, 3rd level of the Exhibit Hall/Activities Complex. On Monday through Wednesday registration will continue to be available in this location starting at 7:00am. Reception Wine Tasting. The following California wineries will be pouring at the Sunday afternoon reception (4:00pm to 6:30 at the Convention Center Ballroom Lobby): Perry Creek Vineyards, LaRocca Vineyards, Frogs Leap Winery, Raymond Vineyard and Cellar, and R.H. Phillips. In addition, these wineries have donated wine to the event: Altamura Winery, Bogle Vineyards, Beringer Vineyards, and Wooden Valley Winery and Vineyards. A Speaker-Ready Room with access to carousels and facilities to preview slides has been arranged in Room 304/305 on the 3rd level. Press Room. This office (Room 319 on the 3rd level) is available to the press and is staffed by University of California personnel. The Congress Office is in Room 301 on the 3rd level. It can be reached by phone at (916) 492-2976. The office will be open from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Wednesday. The Congress Banquet will be held at 6:30, Tuesday evening, in the Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1209 L Street, Sacramento, CA, adjacent to the Convention Center. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Breaks. Morning and afternoon breaks are scheduled Monday through Wednesday. Refreshments will be available in the Congress Exhibit Area. The Lunch Break is from 12:00 to 1:15 on Monday through Wednesday. A list of near-by restaurants is available in the Sacramento Visitors Guide found in your registration packet. Further details and options will be announced at the opening session. Plenary Sessions. The Plenary Sessions begin at 8:00 each morning (Monday through Wednesday) in the Sacramento Community Center Theater. On Monday, if you have not completed registration by 8:00am, you are urged to attend the Plenary Session and complete your registration afterward. For all other sessions, registration badges will be required for attendance. Technical Sessions. Each Session should provide an integrated perspective on the designated topic with presentations from science and technology; policy, culture, and economics; and case studies of management experience. Global Ecosystem Issues Discussion Forums. The format of these Forums on Monday and Tuesday is meant to encourage analysis and discussion of topics introduced in the Technical Sessions with the goal of reaching consensual recommendations. A discussion leader and rapporteur for each forum will facilitate the discussion and record a summary. At the Discussion wrap-up on Wednesday, summaries and recommendations from each forum will be presented to the whole Congress and subsequently published with the Congress proceedings. This product is intended to provide guidance for future policymaking, management practices, and directions for needed research. Posters. The display area will be the Congress Exhibit Area in the east end of the Ballroom (3rd level). Posters may be set up on Sunday (3:00 to 6:30) and on Monday morning (7:00 to 8:00). Times for general poster viewing are Monday through Wednesday during the morning breaks (9:15 or 9:30 to 10:00), the afternoon breaks (3:15 to 3:45), and on Monday and Tuesday in the period (5:15 to 6:00) after the Discussion Forums. Posters have been grouped by subject (see table below for the categories). Poster presenters are requested to be at their poster during the viewing period in which their subject is featured on Monday and Tuesday during the afternoon break periods and after the Discussion Forums. Exhibits. A range of exhibits from organizations, societies, and businesses will be on display in the Congress Exhibit Area in the east end of the Ballroom (3rd level) along with the posters. Designated viewing times are the same as those for posters, noted above and in the detailed program. Exhibitor contact information can be found at the back of this Program. Tours. Six tours are scheduled for Thursday and Friday as named in the Schedule and the detailed program. Signups may be made at the Registration Desk during the registration periods. Publications. The book of abstracts is published as Report No. 24 in the Genetic Resources Conservation Program report series. Citation information is given in the abstract book. The papers presented at the Congress will be peer-reviewed and edited for publication in two or more volumes. Further details will be provided during the Congress. International Society for Ecosystem Health (ISEH). Room 316 on the 3rd floor of the Convention Center will serve as the ISEH Business Office. The ISEH will also have an exhibit in the Congress Exhibit Area on the 3rd floor (Ballroom area). Information on joining ISEH is provided on the back cover of this booklet. Meetings, Interviews.
