Sandy Walsh, RVT, CVPM

Sandy Walsh is a hospital inspector for the Veterinary Medical Board. She inspects hundreds of hospitals each year in Northern California to insure that they meet the minimum standards as established by the Veterinary Medical Board. She has also worked as an RVT since 1982 and received her CVPM certification in 1996. In addition to inspecting hospitals for the VMB, Sandy works as a Practice Management Consultant and occasionally as a relief RVT.

Wendy S. Myers

Wendy is the owner of Communication Solutions for Veterinarians in Denver, Colorado. She serves on the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI) Wellness Task Force with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). She is the author of two books, The Veterinary Practice Management Resource Book & CD and Your High Performance Practice: Building Stronger Client Relationships Through Superior Pet Care and has produced five videos. For five years, Wendy served as editor in chief of Veterinary Economics. She has taught marketing communications in the master’s degree program at Colorado State University and she is a past national president of the Society of Professional Journalists.

With more than 29 years of working with veterinarians as a consultant in marketing, training and management, May's diverse background served him well at Veterinary Pet Insurance. Former vice president of strategic marketing at Veterinary Pet Insurance, Inc., Steven L. May focused his efforts by building brand product awareness through the veterinary and breeder channels. Before joining the company in April 2000, he was vice president corporate marketing for Veterinary Centers of America, Inc. (VCA). There, he developed and launched marketing programs for more than 200 veterinary hospitals in 28 states. In 1994, May also worked as vice president marketing for Vet's Choice, a joint venture between Veterinary Centers of America, Inc. and Heinz Pet Products. And he is currently the CEO and president of Veterinary Marketing & Management, Inc. providing strategic marketing planning, practice management capabilities and brand identity campaigns for veterinary industry-related companies and practitioners throughout the United States.

He has authored articles for veterinary trade publications and has lectured in seminars throughout the United States. May is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and a charter member of the Association of Veterinary Practice Managers, Consultants and Advisors (AVPMCA).
