Feral Cat Project
The Feral Cat Project is a division of the Feline Medicine club which is dedicated
to reduce feral cat populations on the UC Davis campus via spaying and neutering,
and to provide care for feral cats in need of veterinary attention. Volunteers set
traps for reported feral cats, and once they are trapped they receive a full physical
exam, are tested for FeLV and FIV, are vaccinated, and then spayed or neutered.
They have their right ears notched for identification purposes. They are then
released in the location where they were caught, or adopted into homes if
temperament allows. The project began in 1986, and since then 423 cats have been
trapped and sterilized. We believe the efforts of the project's volunteers have
worked to dramatically reduce feral cat populations on campus. If you have any
