A Cooperative Effort |
| The Mercer Clinic is a cooperative effort between multiple groups, including veterinary volunteers (doctors and students), undergraduate vet aide students, and veterinary companies sponsoring efforts. 30-50 veterinary students volunteer their time each month, working with clients, conducting physical exams and preventive medicine on feline & canine patients (heartworm prevention, flea treatment, and vaccines), and work with sick patients along with the volunteer doctors. |
| The Mercer Clinic would not run as smoothly as it does without the help from the Vet-Aide club, an Undergraduate club that offers students the opportunity to gain experience with veterinary students and professionals. The Mercer Clinic gives these students the opportunity to gain crucial hands on experience while assisting at the Clinic. The Vet student and the Vet Aide volunteer see patients as a team and through this both students are able to learn valuable lessons from each other as they see patients and help people's pets. |
