Spay and Neuter Program
One of the important aims of the Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Homeless is to spay and neuter as many companion animals of the homeless as our budget will allow. We make it a requirement that any animal old enough must be spayed or neutered before they can receive food or services from our clinic. Last year alone we altered over 200 animals.
We hope that by providing these services free of charge, we are fulfilling two goals. The first, that we are helping these animals be better companions to the homeless. The second, that we are contributing the the reduction of the stray and unwanted animal population.
