Virtual Celebration

In accordance with state guidelines, the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), along with input from students and staff, had to make the difficult decision to commemorate the class of 2020 in a virtual celebration. The class of 2020 will have the opportunity to celebrate in a formal banquet in the coming months. Additional details on this event will be available at a later date.

Graduates will have an opportunity to create a personalized slide including preferred name, past education, a photograph, and a message they would like to share. Their names will be prerecorded and announced during the virtual ceremony by a professional name reader. Prerecorded speeches of students, faculty, and special guests selected by the graduates will also be available to view. The Virtual Commencement Celebration will be available for graduates, family, and friends to view on this webpage for one year beginning May 22, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. The Facebook Live pre-celebration begins at 2:30 p.m.

Ceremony Registration

Graduates must register to participate in the ceremony. Information can be found in the Canvas portal under the Pages section >> "End of Year/Virtual Celebration."

Commencement Regalia

Commencement attire will need to be reordered. Unfortunately, the vendor will not be renting out regalia this year. The cost of all regalia will be covered by SAVMA and Student Programs to include a keeper gown, mortarboard and tassel, and keeper hood. This will allow for you to commemorate the occasion with photos. Any additional items can be ordered and will be covered by the graduate. Order information will be available in Canvas.
