Table of Contents
Read the Foreword for general information on these notes. If you notice mistakes of any type, notify me.
There are two logical ways to use these notes:
-
You can use one window in which there will be two frames. The top frame will display the Index. Clicking on the subject matter (linked through arrowheads) will display the document and section in the lower frame. This may be useful if you are only interested in displaying information based on terms you already have in mind. To invoke this, click here.
-
The other method involves multiple windows. For example, when you click on a chapter or section, it will be displayed in a common window. This window is generated the first time you activate a link and then all further material (or parts thereof) will be displayed in the same window. This allows you to keep the table of contents (or index, which will be displayed in its own window and sends activated material to the common window) open at all times, perhaps as a narrow strip to the left, while you view the subject matter, perhaps in a larger window to the right.
Other information that may be helpful when using these notes:
-
Terms or subject matter that is listed in the Index is set off from the rest of the text by either a different color or font. This should allow you to quickly focus on the relevant line after clicking on a particular term in the Index.

Illustrations of various conditions, procedures or instruments are linked either via standard hypertext linking or through a bright green peg:
