Medical entomologist Anthony "Anton" Cornel, associate professor of entomology at the UC Davis Department of Entomology, is the director of the Designated Emphasis program. He is based at the Kearney Agricultural Center, Parlier.

Aurelie Andrianarivo, an assistant researcher at the Center for Vectorborne Diseases, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, is the staff coordinator of the Designated Emphasis program.
