Welcome to the Companion Zoological Animal Research laboratory (CZAR)!
CZAR is a collaborative group of veterinarians and students directed by SVM faculty member Dr. Joanne Paul-Murphy. The research we conduct explores a wide range of topics concerned with health and disease in companion zoological species. Our main focus is to improve pain management, wellness and welfare in the companion zoological field. Please take a moment to get to know us by exploring our research program.
The Richard M. Schubot Parrot Wellness and Welfare Program (PWWP) is dedicated to enriching the quality of life of companion parrots and their human caretakers. The PWWP program meets this goal by providing resources in parrot health, education, clinical care, and advances in disease prevention and treatment.
