Externship or Research at the Royal Agricultural and Veterinary University, Copenhagen
Description:
UC Davis and the Royal Agricultural and Veterinary University of Copenhagen have an agreement of cooperation which permits students of one institution to attend classes and clinics (where available) at the other. Denmark is especially active and progressive in control and eradication of diseases of swine and dairy cattle and also has an extensive active program of surveilance of animal diseases
Qualifications: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year DVM students, MPVM and graduate academic students. Danish not required
Length of Stay: 2 weeks to 3 months

Title:
Clinical externships at the veterinary hospital of the University of Utrecht, Netherlands
Description:
UCDavis and the faculty of veterinary medicine, University of Utrecht have an agreement whereby 2 students from each institution are exchanged each year. UCDavis students may spend time in the large animal surgery section, large animal medicine section, or companion animal section of the Utrecht University veterinary clinics. The University of Utrecht has a world renowned program in veterinary medicine, being the only veterinary school outside the US and Canada to be accredited by the AVMA. This is a competitive program. Applications are due December 1st of the 3rd DVM year and should include a short CV, a one paragraph statement of objectives, and one letter of reference from a UCDavis faculty member.
Qualifications:
4th year veterinary student, MPVM and graduate academic students Knowledge of Dutch not necessary (clinical sections are given in English when non-Dutch speakers are present)
Length of Stay:
2 to 6 weeks
Best time of year:
Anytime of year, but summer is best
Housing, other information:
Low-cost housing can be arranged with one month’s notice

Description: The University of Pretoria has programs in livestock and wildlife management that includes a practicum in the 4th year at national parks as well as livestock holdings.
Qualifications: 4th year DVM students, MPVM and graduate academic students English is an official language
