Registration and hotel reservations are now available for the AAVMC/AVMA Joint International Symposium on Animal Welfare Education and Research to be held November 9-11, 2009, at Michigan State University.  Please visit the AAVMC web site at http://www.avma.org/awsymposium/ .  There you will be able to register and reserve your hotel room(s) and find detailed symposium information, agenda, etc.

I strongly urge that you register and secure your hotel room(s) as soon as possible, since space for the symposium is limited to 300 people.  This symposium will be strongly marketed by AVMA to their members and stakeholder groups and internationally so I want to be sure AAVMC member institutions’ leaders, faculty, veterinary students, graduate students and staff have as early as possible opportunity to register.  I recommend that you stay at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center since that is where the symposium is going to be held.  Our secondary hotel (which is very very nice!) is the East Lansing Marriott.  Transportation will be provided morning and evening between the two hotels.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or Matt Grogg here at AAVMC mgrogg@aavmc.org if you have any questions.  I hope you will attend this unique educational opportunity and encourage your students and faculty to also take advantage of engaging experts from around the world in these important discussions.
