Thursday evening is the start of the 2015 Merial - NIH National Veterinary Scholars Symposium.

A reception will be held at the Veterinary Medicine Quad area, beginning at 6:30 pm. There will be plenty of shade, and the Vet Med buildings will be open as well. There will be hors d' oevre and hosted bar stations featuring local wine and beer set up inside Gladys Valley Hall, with seating available both indoors and outside.

The Welcome Address, given by Dr. Isaac Pessah, Associate Dean of Research & Graduate Education, School of Veterinary Medicine will begin at 7:00 pm, and will be followed by brief presentations from Dr. Michael Lairmore, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Ralph Hexter, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, Harris Lewin, Vice Chancellor for Research, Manuel Moro, the T-Program Director for NIH, Roberto Alva, Exectutive Director of the Merial Veterinary Scholars Program, plus several other distinguished individuals.  Their bios can be found here.

Please plan to attend the reception if at all possible, as it is a great opportunity to mix and mingle with faculty, speakers, and your peers prior to the Symposium.

While visiting Gladys Valley Hall, be sure to stop by and view the Fulbright in Egypt exhibit currently on display on both the first and second floors.
