Admission Information

The application fee is $80 (U.S.) or $100 (international). Transcripts of all your undergraduate and previous graduate study, along with other supporting documents (if required) must be sent via mail to your graduate major program office (see #4 below).

APPLICATION OVERVIEW AND INSTRUCTIONS

1. Academic Requirements for the Program

a. All applicants to the MPVM program must hold a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or its DVM equivalent.

b. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.70 in their DVM program for consideration of admission to the MPVM program.

2. Complete the online application through the Office of Graduate Studies

3. Letters of Recommendation
Three academic or professional recommendations (in English) are required. Letters of recommendation are submitted electronically through the online admissions application system only. No paper copies or letter service letters are accepted.

4. Transcripts
Official transcripts and their English certified version of all prior university work must be received in the Office of the Graduate Studies, no later than March 1 for international students and April 1for domestic students.

5. TOEFL

The UCD Office of Graduate Studies requires the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if your native language is not English or your instruction has not been in English. The minimum score required for admission to graduate study at UC Davis is 600 for the paper test, and a score of 100 is required for the Internet-based test. TOEFL scores expire after two years. Scores that are two years old or more will not be accepted.

IELTS Scores. As an alternative, you may submit scores from the Academic Modules of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) designed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and administered by the British Council worldwide. You are responsible for providing us with an official Test Report Form (TRF) of your IELTS. Remember to order the TRF when you register to take the test.

Tests taken before June 2003 will not be accepted by Graduate Admissions. Your most recent overall BAND score must be at least 7 on a 9-point scale.
