Equipment
Quick, expedient and effective response is essential to saving lives during an oil spill. The OWCN uses state-of-the-art equipment to help facilitate the recovery of oiled wildlife during a response.
Boat
The boat is essential for on-water spills for search and collection purposes.
Ratrig (Recovery and Transportation Rig)
This is a mobile stabilization unit, allowing OWCN personnel to take the first steps in stabilizing oiled birds before moving them to a dedicated rehabilitation facility. These steps include hydration and emergency medical care.
Net-bottom Pens
These specially designed pens are used to house seabirds susceptible to injury on hard surfaces.
Mobile Stabilization Unit
This large tent is used as a stablization unit or to expand an existing facility (or the ratrig) without compromising best achievable care. Birds or mammals can be held and treated here on a temporary basis.
