Graduate Student Organizations

GSA - The Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is the officially recognized student government for UC Davis graduate students. All regularly enrolled graduate students and students in the School of Management pay the quarterly GSA fee and are automatically members. Other professional students are eligible to join GSA by paying the fee but do not do so automatically.

GSA services to its members include group/department activity funding, limited free legal counseling, and travel fund grants. In cooperation with Graduate Studies, GSA offers access to the Graduate Student Emergency Loan Fund and offers a fellowship database search. GSA also serves as an advocate at all levels of the university on behalf of graduate students and works with other student organizations to represent graduate student interests to local, state, and federal governments.

GSA is run by graduate students who devote time and expertise to the General Assembly, the Executive Council, and committees. GSA General Assembly representatives are designated by other students in their departments or graduate groups. General Assembly meetings are held once a month and are open to all GSA members. Each year the General Assembly elects the members of the Executive Council, who serve in a variety of positions to carry out the policies and functions of the organization.

The Comparative Pathology
Graduate Student Organization

The Comparative Pathology Graduate Student Organization organizes and sponsors academic and social events to foster interchange among students who are spread across various departments and buildings on campus. Activities for the year begin with a dinner meeting early in Fall Quarter. In Spring Quarter the organization sponsors panel discussions focused on preparation for the qualifying examination, preparation of thesis, and other requirements for graduate education.
