Potential research opportunities in small animal orthopedic research include:

1. Clinical studies of efficacy of surgical and medical treatment of joint disease. These studies will employ clinical patients and use force plate analysis for objective study.
2. Laboratory studies of biomechanics. These studies will examine the biomechanical properties of specific methods of fixation of fractures and corrective osteotomies and joint replacement techniques.
