Dr. Wilson is a veterinary pathologist whose research area is cardiopulmonary pathology. His laboratory investigates the anatomic manifestations of vascular remodeling in pulmonary hypertension and atherosclerosis using fluorescence microscopy and immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and ultrastructural analysis. These studies are done in concert with investigations in endothelial cell biology including signal transduction, cell cycle analysis, mechanisms of microvascular permeability and proteomic evaluations of targets for endothelial cell toxins. A developing area in his laboratory is the effect of environmental particulates on cardiovascular disease using mouse models of atherosclerosis.
