Virginia Perry Wilson Endowment Fund

A number of years ago the School established the Virginia Perry Wilson Endowment Fund which is used to support interdepartmental events. The amount available each year is generated through endowment earnings earmarked for the purpose of funding events that foster interaction between faculty of the six School departments. These funds are also intended to offer opportunities for graduate academics, residents, postdoctoral researchers and technical staff to interact across School departments. These funds are administered by the Office of Research and Graduate Education Programs.

Faculty in your department are invited to submit proposals requesting funds for supporting a seminar, short course, mini-retreat, workshop or other informal activity designed to bring together faculty, students, and staff from the School departments who have a common scientific or clinical interest. Grants of up to $1,000 will be allocated to cover the expenses of the event, e.g., honoraria, travel and per diem for a visitor, supplies and expenses related to the event, light refreshments and reception costs, room rental costs, and advertising.

A special requirement of this fund is that recipients will be asked to announce that the funding to support their event was made possible through funding from the Virginia Perry Wilson Endowment.

Please ask faculty to submit their proposals to the School's Office of Research and Graduate Education Programs no later than September 14, 2007.
