Dennis Wilson, MS, PhD, DVM
VM: Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology

Pulmonary and toxicopathology; pathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension; natural toxicants; equine respiratory disease; endothelial cell biology. Dr. Wilson's research focus is environmental nutritional and chemically induced disease with an emphasis on endothelial biology in the pathogenesis of cardiopulmonary pathology. Current research involves mechanisms of endothelial cell injury and response in pulmonary hypertension using both chemically induced animal models and in vitro studies of signal transduction systems associated with recognized genetic lesions in susceptible humans. A second area of research investigates the interaction of circulating lipids with endothelial cells and the role of endothelial transport in lipid accumulation in the vascular wall using mouse models of atherosclerosis. Additional clinical investigations characterize the comparative structural and functional basis of naturally occurring lung diseases of domestic animals.
