An ideal place for California State Fair visitors to learn about animal agriculture and the miracle of birth is the Livestock Nursery, now in its 31st year.
Besides educating and entertaining the public, the Nursery activities provide veterinary students with valuable experience working with food animals.

UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine serves the state of California through teaching, research and service programs that benefit animal, human and environmental health. The school offers several advanced programs at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory, and the Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center, Tulare.
