Technote

This live interactive webcast was done in conjunction with hardware, software and support from NuSpectra Multimedia, Inc. of Alameda, CA.

The hardware for the project includes:

Network Camera Servers
Pan-tilt-zoom Cameras
VBX-1000 Cabling Kits
Outdoor Dome Enclosures

The software for the project includes:
Canon Operating System for Network Camera Servers

The cameras can be controlled remotely through the browser using a simple java applet that is downloaded to the viewer upon connection. You can zoom in on any subject of interest within the field of view of the cameras. The camera system also allows you to snap a picture (click on the little camera icon below the video feed) - so give it a try and then e-mail the .jpg to a friend or save it on your computer.

The system has built-in queuing software which allows you to "get in line" over the Internet, and share the control of the camera with other viewers from all over the world.

The live video feed is streamed back to you over the Internet through an intricate network of data lines, routers and servers which form the infrastructure of the Internet.
