DVM Events

Provide high quality student-centered events and ceremonies
that celebrate the success and accomplishments
of our professional students.

Induction Ceremony

The official welcome celebration of our entering DVM students that signifies the beginning of their career in veterinary medicine.

Career & Networking Night

Provides DVM candidates and alumni the opportunity to network with practitioners and health care representatives. Hosted by the Career, Leadership and Wellness Center, in conjunction with the UC Davis Student Chapter of the AVMA (SAVMA), this annual event attracts hospital representatives from throughout the west coast and offers students the chance to build relationships and set up future externship, internship, and employment opportunities. Similarly, the event serves to expose students to the diverse range of health care companies and associations that serve the veterinary field and familiarize students with the products and services they offer. Evening of Gratitude

A special opportunity to express appreciation to individuals, associations and corporate donors who have supported scholarships and fellowships. Donors are able to meet and share dinner with their scholarship recipient. The event signifies a time for appreciation to the alumni and friends of the School of Veterinary Medicine, as well as a time for celebration with the students in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program.

Phi Zeta is the honor society for veterinary medicine. It was founded in 1925 by a group of senior veterinary students in the New York State Veterinary College at Cornell University. Now, every School of Veterinary Medicine in the United States has a chapter. The aim of Phi Zeta is to stand for the constant advancement of the veterinary profession, for higher educational requirements, and for high scholarship. The object of the society is to recognize and promote scholarship and research in matters pertaining to the welfare and diseases of animals.
