Integrated Wildfire Hazard Abatement
J. Glenn, Veterinary Medicine Extension, UC Davis; Integrated Wildfire Hazard Abatement Workgroup
Problem: Dangerous levels of fuels are accumulating in brushy areas throughout California, especially at the urban/wildland interface, at a time when brush reduction using prescribed burning is becoming increasingly difficult to accomplish.
Approach: Provide access to educational materials and information regarding alternative methods to reduce fuel loads, including the environmentally sound use of goats to control brush regrowth.
