Equine Medicine

Teaching and clinical programs in equine medicine are diverse and embrace the pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, control and prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseass involving all body systems of the horse.  Speciality areas include:

  • Neurologic and muscle disease

RESEARCH AREAS INCLUDE:


Infectious diseases (Salmonellosis, Ehrlichiosis, Borreliosis, Clostridia); clinical pharmacology; preventive medicine; neuromuscular disorders; pulmonary diseases; neonatology; thermoregulation and fluid/electrolyte balance during exercise.
