Patient care at the Large Animal Clinic is provided around-the-clock by trained and dedicated personnel.
Our facilities include:
- 50-stall barn
- 10-stall ICU
- Neonatal ICU
- Separate infectious disease ICU
The main barn is generally restricted to patients with minor, noninfectious conditions, while the ICUs are used for patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment. The neonatal ICU has temperature-controlled stalls that can be used during the non-foaling season to treat patients with heat-associated disorders. We follow stringent procedures with regard to infectious disease control to prevent the spread of infection. We also provide ongoing surveillance of all hospitalized patients to minimize the risk of infections.
