Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative MedicineThe Regenerative Medicine Laboratory is a research-driven laboratory. The new knowledge we will acquire in this exciting and continually evolving field will allow us to offer a broader range of novel services in the future.

At the present time, clinical application of stem cells at the VMTH is directed toward the experimental treatment of orthopedic injuries and joint disease in horses and dogs. Our work is multidisciplinary and coordinated with UCD School of Medicine and department of biomedical engineering. Other species such as llamas and alpacas, cattle and goats may eventually benefit as well from cell-based therapy.

For information regarding stem cell applications for your specific animal species or medical condition, contact the Regenerative Medicine Laboratory.
