Case 8
This is a continuous wave Doppler tracing taken with the Doppler beam crossing the flow across the defect at the base of the interventricular septum. It shows low velocity flow (1.66 meters/second) during diastole and higher velocity flow (3.41 meters/second) in systole. Both flows are toward the transducer. The pressure gradients (PG) have been calculated from the peak velocity measurements and are shown on the image (to the left).
