Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Description: The Intensive Care Unit operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to care for the most seriously ill or injured patients in the VMTH. Individualized and personal care is provided by our nursing staff, many of whom are specialty certified. Our board-certified critical care doctors provide consultations as well as primarily care for those most in need, i.e. ventilator patients. We provide monitoring and therapeutic support similar to human ICUs including mechanical ventilation (respiratory life support), intravenous fluid therapy and nutritional support, oxygen supplementation, blood transfusions, and blood gas analysis.
