To evaluate health risks to animals and improve veterinary care, faculty of the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital are seeking referrals for clinicial studies.
Canine Bone Tumor Study
Veterinary faculty of the Small Animal Surgery Service are seeking patients for the evaluation of the risks of pathologic fracture in patients with primary bone tumors. The goal is to be able to better predict which patients are at greatest risk.
Criteria determined from the results of this study may ultimately allow lower risk patients to be candidates for treatments other than amputation.
This study is funded, and in return for participation, provides a financial incentive toward the cost of the patient's care.

Canine Anal Sac Carcinoma Study
Veterinary faculty are seeking patients for the evaluation of the risks and pathway of metastasis of anal sac adenocarcinoma in dogs. The goal is to identify the true sentinel lymph nodes in the spread of this disease, and the best method for evaluating these nodes. This study is funded, and in return for participation, provides a small
financial incentive toward the cost of the patient's care as well as a free CT evaluation for pulmonary and abdominal metastasis.
