The International Animal Welfare Training Institute with the School of Veterinary Medicine will bring Dr. Eric Davis to campus on Monday, Dec. 10th, 6 p.m., to discuss the “Ethics and Effects of Veterinary Aid Programs" in under-served communities in the USA and abroad.
Join us in 1020 Valley Hall for a discussion about the motivations of such programs, the assumptions made by veterinarians who participate in them, and the possible outcomes for human and animal welfare. Different programs have different funding, missions, and ethical norms. How do we in the affluent world make an real contribution to the welfare of those, both human and animal, who live in less economically advantaged places? And how do we insure that we "do no harm"?
