Welcome Christine “Chrissy” Kapelewski, the school's inaugural staff administrator for the Veterinary Center for Clinical Trials (VCCT). Chrissy received her B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland in 2006 and her Ph.D. in Neuroscience in the Integrative Biosciences Neuroscience program at Penn State University in 2010. Prior to joining the UC Davis SVM community, she was employed at UC Berkeley as a research compliance analyst in the Office for Animal Care and Use where she oversaw regulatory compliance, coordinated with other campus regulatory and administrative units, and produced communications for faculty and the public using a variety of print and electronic media.
As our clinical trials analyst, Chrissy will be the principal point of contact for faculty and external sponsors interested in initiating clinical trials. She will oversee day-to-day operations of the VCCT while facilitating administrative processes associated with the conduct of clinical trials including contracts, grants, material & technology transfer, regulatory compliance, fee-for-service requests, advertising, and marketing. Chrissy is well versed in many of the administrative and regulatory peculiarities of the UC system and has excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
