Dale Ann Moore, DVM, MPVM, PhD, has been appointed the Associate Dean for Student Programs at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Moore will administer the programs of pre-veterinary advising, admissions, and academic advising for the school. She will also oversee scholarships, student events and activities, career services and the Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine degree program. Her appointment became effective July 1.
Hired in 1998, Dr. Moore, a dairy veterinarian and epidemiologist, has been based at the Veterinary Medical Teaching & Research Center in Tulare, with teaching duties in Tulare and Davis. Dr. Moore has also conducted research on dairy epidemiology, educational outcomes assessments, assessing learning needs, and continuing education.
She will remain a collaborator in the National Center for Foreign Animal and Zoonotic Disease Defense, providing outreach and research related to homeland security. She is also a member of the USDA's Advisory Committee on Foreign Animal and Poultry Diseases.
