Racetrack Surfaces Examined for Risk of Equine Injury

A special report, "Can Racetrack Surface Reduce the Risk of Musculoskeletal Injury in Thoroughbred Racehorses?" is now available from the Center for Equine Health at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

The report presents the results of a research study on different racetrack surfaces and their specific effects on hoof acceleration and impact.

The report was developed and written by Jacob J. Setterbo, Tanya C. Garcia, Ian P. Campbell, Jennifer L. Reese, Jessica W. Morgan, Sun Y. Kim, Mont Hubbard, and Susan M. Stover.
