Jay-Russell is a food safety specialist at the Western Institute for Food Safety and Security in the School of Veterinary Medicine. She and other veterinarians, educators and scientists have developed a website about science, policy and the other complex issues surrounding unpasteurized milk, www.realrawmilkfacts.com, which resulted from discussions at the 2009 AVMA Annual Convention and a 2009 symposium on raw milk by the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP).

Developers expect that the website will serve as a clearinghouse for studies, presentations, commentaries, regulations, and position statements on the topic.

Scientists and health educators from universities, government, industry, the legal community, and professional organizations developed and reviewed the content for the website. They also solicited comments and materials from consumers of raw milk.

The Real Raw Milk Facts dot Com buttons pictured will be available free at the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine booth at the AVMA convention in Atlanta July 31-Aug 3 and at the Food Safety News booth during the IAFP convention in Anaheim August 1-4.
