Practical Ultrasonography: November 12-13 and December 17-18

Practical Ultrasonography 2011, a two-day course for beginning or review of ultrasound techniques for veterinarians, will take place the weekends of November 12–13, 2011 and December 17–18, 2011.
Each course will be held at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Davis, California. On the weekend selected, participants spend two days in a mix of lecture and laboratory settings to learn the most practical ultrasonography techniques
Rachel Pollard, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVR, is the course coordinator. Pollard is an associate professor of diagnostic imaging at the William R. Pritchard Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
Equipment and technique
Ultrasound is a standard of practice today, and your patients deserve the best you can provide. This series of courses will introduce you to the equipment, explain how ultrasound works and teach you how to get the images you need to evaluate your patients.
You’ll gain valuable skills under expert tutoring and learn to interpret both normal and abnormal findings.
One instructor will be assigned to every station and will provide the personal attention necessary to develop and refine your skills. We are confident that no better educational experience exists to help you become proficient in ultrasonography.
Laboratory and lecture
A unique lecture and laboratory format has been designed to provide you with relevant take-home knowledge and skills.You will have improved skills when you see your first ultrasound case the Monday morning following this program.
The course teaches veterinarians the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a complete abdominal ultrasound exam with an emphasis on normal organs.
The cost for the two-day lecture and lab session is $1,195. The fee for the two days of lecture only is $550. Participants who attend the entire session earn 16 contact hours of approved veterinary continuing education.
