To ensure effective school-wide management infrastructure and sustainable financial resources for the future, the school has hired Mary McNally as executive assistant dean for administration. Her appointment becomes effective June 28, 2012.
As the chief financial officer, McNally is responsible for administrative resources and assets. She oversees administrative infrastructure.
McNally brings to the school a wealth of knowledge and experience from her previous position as assistant dean of business and finance at the Graduate School of Management, where she worked since 2007. Also at UC Davis, she served in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and in the Department of Land, Air, and Water Resources at the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Prior to her campus arrival, McNally held increasingly responsible positions in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System and other organizations as an economist, a research analyst and chief administrative officer.
McNally holds a PhD from UC Davis in agricultural economics, specializing in quantitative methods, international economics, and natural resources and environmental economics. Also at UC Davis, she earned an MS degree in agricultural economics and her bachelor’s degree in agricultural and managerial economics.
McNally replaces Doreen Franke, who retired after 11 years as the chief financial officer. Franke played a pivotal role in the management of school resources and the implementation of strategies to buffer the impacts of unprecedented, ongoing budget cuts at the school.
