Harlequin ducks are residents of the inland waters of Washington and British Columbia. These birds feed primarily on small crustaceans and assorted mollusks. Fish make up a much smaller percentage of their diet. This species is recognized as a species of concern under the U.S. Federal ESA as well as by Washington state. |
